Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The plain robust carriage supports the large decorative ring turned barrel which has a row of circular handles down each side for transporting or pulling. The model is displayed on a very pleasing stepped and moulded hardwood base which is mounted with a small group of cannon balls under the barrel and finished around the outer edge with shaped bronze pillars and a perimeter chain. This very fine model is in excellent original condition. The bronze has a greenish brown patina and the wooden base which appears to be made from solid figured teak has a rich colour and patination.
