Cotswold Oriental Rugs has dated this Antique Afghan Baluch Kilim to the 1910s.
Antique kilim woven in two parts by the Baluch tribes of Afghanistan.
Circa 1900/20.
This excellent kilim was woven in two parts on a narrow simple loom, and then stitched together in the middle along the entire length; this explains the very slight variation in colour and design from one side to the other. The kilim has a repeat diamond design, the colour palette is warm with earthy tones. Note the long kilim ends decorated with bands of rosette flower heads.
The is a good strong kilim that will stand up to floor use.
