Size: 5ft 9in x 3ft 4in (175 x 101cm).
Antique Western Anatolian Milas prayer rug of early design with wonderful colour.
Mid 19th century.
A good example of an early Milas village prayer rug with traditional design. The ivory ground outer border with carnation flowers is of particular note. The use of aubergine colour in the field is unusual and points towards an early date.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for light domestic use. but would make a superb wall hanging.
