A superb quality brass inlaid pedestal desk from the late 19th century. Of fine construction in a high grade, dense, mahogany timber. Of inverse break-fronted form. The top fitted with a sumptuous black leather writing surface finished with gilt tooled decorations to the surrounds. The desk top is finished with a solid brass edging which really sets the desk off. There is an an arrangement of 9 drawers (all lockable , key supplied) fitted with their original solid brass handles. The styles are inlaid with brass flutting. All standing on elegant tapering feet. This desk is finsihed to the rear so could be free-standing within a room if desired. Professionally repolished to a very high standard and now offered for sale in excellent condition. Splits into 3 sections for ease of installation.
