£2,200    $2,744    €2,639
Edwardian mahogany Carlton House desk

Here we are delighted to offer you this Edwardian mahogany Carlton House desk that was made circa 1910.

The desk standing on unusual square tapering legs with kicked toes.

The Antique desk has the original leather writing surface.

Imagine the original home and the elegant Edwardian lady sitting at this as she wrote her daily diary entries or letters to her friends and families who were spread around Great Britain and to all parts of the globe.

Carlton House desks were the inspiration of Hepplewhite, the first one was made for the then Prince of Wales (later to become George IV) and named after his Palace, Carlton House.

This superb example is slightly smaller than the original but is of the same shape and form.

It is much like a writing table with the U-shaped fitting to the rear, fitted multiple drawers, and bowed cupboards, that open to reveal open storage, as well as the compartments with the bowed section that runs above the end drawers.

You will be very pleased with your choice as your family and friends take turns sitting at it.
