A superb antique Victorian satinwood leather top pedestal desk, beautifully made in England, it dates from around the 1860-1880 period.
It is of very fine quality, with a lovely inverted breakfront design. It sits on plinth bases with concealed casters, the handles are nicely turned from solid satin wood and the back is nicely finished as well, so it can be used as a free standing item. The inset tooled leather top is a beautifully patinated black, which contrasts beautifully with the wood.
We have had this recently re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age, with some minor old marks here and there beneath the polish.
The top lifts off and this breaks down into three pieces for ease of transport.
