Early Antique Metalware 19thc Georgian Brass Ale / Cider Jug. English C1800-20.

Description

A superb example of an early 19thc brass ale / cider jug, which would have been used in the English country tavern....it is of "pot belly" form and has the early "castellated" rivet form of construction, always an indication of age and quality.... the shaped handle has been flattened out and then with copper rivets attached to the body of the jug....the jug is in excellent condition with no dents or splits and has gained a very good mellow colour to the brass....these collectable jugs are getting hard to find in such good condition as this one,... as a lot of examples have been dented or split by being dropped on the stone floors..!
