A large George III oak chest of drawers c1800, with graduated cockbeaded drawers and bracket feet. The chest in in two parts - the top part has two drawers over one wide drawer, with three full width drawers in the base section. The top section locates onto the base with wooden blocks so has to be lifted off. The chest is plain and simple in style and features some well figured oak.If you need a large chest of drawers but have difficult access then this one is worth a look. The removable top section makes it much easier to manoeuvre up stairs, and it was probably made this way to allow it to be moved into a particular room with awkward access.Condition: The handles are not original - there is a central filled hole (so it must have had knobs on originally) which is mostly covered by the handles.
