Circa 1760. An early George III mahogany ‘Dumfries House’ style house chest of drawers. The top with fine figured mahogany and stylish moulded fore-edge. The front with a configuration of two short over three full length graduating drawers, which retain their original cast swan neck handles with elegant pommels and stylish back-plates and rounded bottom escutcheons. The liners are in oak (a sign of quality). Beneath the bottom drawer there are further mouldings and the chest rests on four stylish carved and shaped bracket feet.
