Antique Georgian Carved Oak Bureau Desk C1780 W6279/1.3

Description

Antique george 111 oak bureau and dating from around 1780 with later victorian carving. Please note that the oak is darker than shown in the photographs and is a nice nut brown colour (please see photograph of fall front). The fall front with figural carving and brass escutcheon opens to reveal six pigeon holes with secret frieze drawer to each end and above one long drawer to the centre and small drawer either side with a further row of three drawers to each side. To the base there are four graduating drawers all with lunette carving to the front and being oak lined with brass handles and key escutcheons. It stands on bracket feet.

Measures: 38.5" high X 27.5" knee height X 20" deep X 33.5" wide

In very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the nut brown oak oozing the charm and character of the georgian period.
