Antique silver full hunter pocket watch, Highland Light Infantry.

The watch has a Swiss 15 jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside all three covers for London (import mark), 1919, with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell.

From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

The inside of the front cover has the emblem of the Highland Light Infantry, together with the initials LG and the date 20-4-23.

The case has a few little indentations to the front and some to the back along with some unevenness.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover.

Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The dial is in good condition, just a short faint hairline between 10 and 11. Blued steel hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
