Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the Caucasus region during the nineteenth century, Gendje rugs were hand-knotted by nomadic and village weavers. They are distinguished by their bright, saturated colour palettes, bold geometric borders, and repeated symbolic motifs such as the boteh or pinecone design.

These rugs were woven using locally sourced, hand-spun wool for both the pile and the foundation. The vibrant hues were achieved using natural plant and mineral dyes, resulting in unique colour variations throughout the weave.

Authentic period pieces feature wool warps and wefts rather than cotton, slight variations in weave uniformity, and subtle colour shading known as abrash. The back of the rug shows clear knotting structures without synthetic backing or glued fringes.

A tribal runner serves as a focal point in long corridors, entryways, or along the side of a bed. Its rich tones complement exposed wooden floorboards, polished concrete, or modern neutral carpeting, adding texture and historical contrast.

Vacuum regularly on a low setting without using a rotating beater bar to prevent fibre damage. Position a high-quality rug underlay beneath it to prevent slipping and reduce wear, and rotate the rug annually to ensure even exposure to light and foot traffic.
