A fine and very decorative pair of andirons or fire dogs. The pair look to be made in cast iron which has been patinated with a gilt and verdigris finish which has worn subtly away. The style of the pair is very much that of the Baroque with large exaggerated shells and scrollwork. The andirons are in excellent condition with a wonderful country house decorative impact. C.1900.
