Mid 19th.c. French Louis Philippe style mahogany settee or couch c.1840. Mahogany frame with a gently curved and moulded top rail and gracefully shaped arms with particularly attractively shaped fronts carved with scrolling papyrus leaf detail. Padded backrest (with the frame exposed at the rear) and a sprung seat. Vintage upholstery in a pale green satin with woven decoration. Deep mahogany veneered plinth raised on carved bracket feet front and rear. Good colour and condition, frame has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops, serviceable upholstery with just a few minor marks. Note the seat is removable for reupholstery.
