In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Antique brass beds gained immense popularity during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, driven by advancements in metal manufacturing and a growing focus on domestic hygiene compared to wooden frames.

These beds typically feature heavy-gauge brass tubing or solid brass fittings mounted over iron frames, often assembled using dovetail joints, cast-iron side rails, and porcelain or brass castors.

Authentic pieces usually display maker plaques, hand-finished joints, heavier weight due to solid metal construction, and natural tarnish or patina consistent with age.

Pairing a metallic bed frame with neutral linens, textured throws, and minimalist decor creates a balanced focal point that bridges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics.

Maintain the surface by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding harsh chemical polishes that can strip away the historical patina accumulated over decades.
