Size: 4ft 4in x 3ft 1in (133 x 95cm).

Antique Timuri / Baluch blue ground prayer rug with repeat leaf design.

Circa 1880.

This is a scarce example of a blue ground Timuri rug from Western Afghanistan, with an all over lotus leaf design; the hand placements also contain the leaf design. The squarer shape is an indicator of an early date.

The rug is in fair condition with some wear and corrosion. There are losses to the kilim ends and side bindings.

The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
