Size: 6ft 6in x 4ft 9in (197 x 146cm).

Antique Yomut Turkmen rug with Darnyk gul design to the field.

Circa 1870 or earlier.

The rug has a warm aubergine coloured field decorated with rows of large Darnyk guls, the ivory ground border is of the curl leaf design. Note how the elem panels at each end are of different designs.

The rug is in fair condition with wear, heavier in places and medium / low pile.

The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
