J. & T. Scott Rosewood Settee

Description

A Scottish mid nineteenth century rosewood three seater settee by J. & T. Scott of number ten George street, Edinburgh, C.1850.

This settee displays superb craftsmanship throughout with turned fluted forelegs and underarm supports, crisply carved rear splayed legs and a birch frame. Raised on original brass and ceramic casters.

Upholstered in a wonderful deep buttoned original ticking, expressing cranberry toned foliage, a rare survivor in such complete order.

In remarkable original condition, with tight joints, springs, webbing and traditional integral upholstery- ready for a top cover should you wish.

Double stamped ‘J. & T. Scott 10 George Street Edinburgh’ and by the craftsman himself ‘J. Whitehead’.
