Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid using water, chemical solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the delicate metal wirework and vitreous enamel surface.

Position the vessel as a focal point on a console table, sideboard, or plinth, allowing its intricate patterns and vibrant colours to contrast against neutral architectural backgrounds.

Authentic antique pieces often feature visible weight, natural ageing and hairline crazing in the enamel, hand-applied wirework with slight irregularities, and occasionally maker marks or seals on the base.

Traditional cloisonne utilises a copper or brass body, thin metal ribbons (cloisons) to form compartments, vitreous enamel paste fired in a kiln, and subsequent polishing to achieve a smooth finish.

Japanese cloisonne, known as shippo, is a traditional decorative art form involving metal wires and enamel on a metal base, reaching its peak artistic development during the Meiji period.
