£625    $820    €747
Antique Edwardian Inlaid Coal Purdonium Cabinet.

A beautiful Edwardian Mahogany coal Purdonium fireside cabinet.

We bring to you the most outstanding original condition antique Edwardian (circa 1890''s) solid Mahogany coal purdonium cabinet ideal for any period property. This Purdonium is in the most pristine condition which we have ever seen for a purdonium cabinet, it is almost like it has not been used, this has not been restored.

This well-made cabinet features a polished brass gallery, which sits proudly on its solid Mahogany top. The cabinet also features stunning floral inlays to the solid Mahogany fielded panel door. The door drops down to reveal a large coal compartment complete with its original lift out metal coal liner which is in fantastic condition complete with the original shiny tinplating (many of these liners get lost or suffer from corrosion). These liners are ideal for mess free storage of coal or kindling which can be carried outside via the handles for re-stocking.

The cabinet also features a solid brass polished dropper handle for the lid door and stunning solid polished brass carry handles either side of the cabinet. Holstered by a brass mount to the rear of the cabinet lives is its lovely turned Mahogany handled polished brass shovel which is in almost perfect original condition almost showing no evidence of use. The cabinet has moulded edges to the top and lower frieze and shows its lovely original rich Mahogany colour with its original glazed French polished finish.

This fantastic-looking cabinet is also an ideal side, lamp or occasional table as it has quite a small form and is very ornate.

We have just carefully cleaned and waxed this stunning piece enhancing the French polished surface and preserving it for many years to come.

Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there, however, we feel that adds to the charm of the item with it being an antique.
