Antique Georgian Country Oak Bureau Desk C1780 Wdb2241/25.1

Lovely antique george 111 country oak bureau and dating form aorund 1780. It has a fall front with brass escutcheon and opens to reveal a very nice interior with central inlaid and banded door of fruitwood and ebony with a 'secret' column drawer to either side. There are six small drawers all of which are oak lined with original ivory knob handles and the two lower drawers having georgian small brass knob handles. The drawers sit above six open compartments. To the base there are four graduating drawers all of which are mahogany banded to the edges and are elm lined with original brass handles. It stands on lovely bracket feet.

Measures: 42" high X knee height 29" X 20" deep X 37" wide

This is a lovely georgian country oak bureau in very good condition with a lovely deep colour, grain and patination to the quality oak oozing the charm and character of the period. Please note that the little cabinet door has a very old ink stain to the front. However in reality this forms part of the patination and charm of the desk.
