Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Japanese Meiji period bronze vessels were produced between 1868 and 1912, marking a golden age of Japanese metalwork. These pieces are recognised for detailed relief carving, naturalistic depictions of flora and fauna, and dark patination created for both domestic display and European export.

These vases were typically crafted using lost-wax casting methods, allowing artisans to achieve intricate three-dimensional details. Elements such as animal masks, handles, and floral reliefs were cast directly onto or applied to the central vessel body before hand-finishing and chemical patination.

Authentic pieces display heavy cast weight, natural surface patination, and detailed hand-chased ornamentation depicting birds, flowers, or mythological motifs. Look for seamless casting joins, smooth interiors, and occasional makers marks or signatures stamped into the base.

Place the vase on a mantelpiece, dark wood sideboard, or shelving unit as a sculptural focal point. The dark patinated bronze contrasts effectively against light neutral walls, marble surfaces, or rich wood tone backdrops.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to clean the textured surface without scratching. Avoid chemical polish, abrasive sprays, or water immersion, as these can strip the original chemical patination and cause uneven oxidisation.
