Here we have a very rare 17th Century Spanish Walnut writing table c1680. As you can see the table has outstanding colour and patina. There is a beautiful Walnut top with original pin hinges to the middle. The front rises and drops over to reveal an arrangement of drawers with cross banded edges and Walnut fronts. There are original hand forged strap hinges with rose head nails. There is also the original stunning lock plate to the inside. There is a Burr Walnut panel to the front with strung decoration to the edge. This panel is also replicated on the legs of the base which incidentally is original to the top. There is a beautiful carved frieze at the top and bottom of the base and wonderful turned legs joined by an all round stretcher.
