It was listed by Marylebone Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The drawer fronts are also satin birch. This desk is finished off all the way around, so the back of the desk is as nice as the front, with the small oval carved motifs in the middle of the pedestals. It’s very much Biedermeier style & has bold sabre feet. I would date it to around the 1850-60’s period & it’s in excellent condition. This desk lifts apart into three sections for easy transportation. There is also a working key for the cupboard locks.
