Antique Jacobean Style Oak Sideboard | Cup and Cover Legs

Antique early 20th century Jacobean style sideboard in oak, a handsome and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and lovely carved detailing throughout.

The sideboard has two frieze drawers, one fitted as a cutlery drawer with a green baize-lined divided tray, over a pair of panelled cupboard doors opening to a spacious interior with a shelf. The drawers have pear drop handles on flower-shaped backplates, with matching drop handles to the doors.

The moulded top has a shaped raised gallery to the back, carved with a central strapwork motif, and the frieze is decorated with carved lozenge banding. The doors have shaped moulded panels with turned bosses either side of a carved central stile, and the sideboard stands on bulbous cup and cover turned front legs united by a box stretcher, ending in bun feet.

The oak displays a lovely figured grain and a warm, rich colour with a pleasing patina, and the maker's 'Pedigree Brand' stamp can be found to the back.

Presented in good condition commensurate with age. Of neat, compact proportions, this is a very desirable oak sideboard, a perfect addition to any dining room, kitchen or hallway.
