Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The piece incorporates a side-mounted turned wooden handle secured with a heart-shaped brass plate, a hinged lid, and a rounded wooden finial on top. The exterior exhibits a polished metallic sheen and a fitted brass rim around the base. Practical dimensions measure 25 cm high, 12 cm wide, and 29 cm in total length including the handle. Suitable for display on a kitchen island, this item serves as a decorative accessory or a functional vessel in a rustic farmhouse interior. The design accommodates placement on open shelving, worktops, or dining sideboards alongside other metalware collections.

FAQs

Historically created in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, a chocolate pot was specifically constructed to prepare and serve hot chocolate beverages, frequently featuring a side-mounted handle and a tapered body.

Traditional pots were fashioned from sheet copper with hand-hammered or dovetailed seams, lined with tin to prevent chemical reactions with liquids, and fitted with turned wooden handles fastened via brass or copper plates.

Authentic historic examples display hand-brazed or dovetailed seams, heavy-gauge sheet metal, hand-hammered rivets, and evidence of historical tin lining or wear surrounding the spout and joins.

These vessels serve as decorative focal points when arranged on kitchen islands, dressers, or mantelpieces, introducing warm metallic tones and historical texture to living spaces.

Clean the exterior metal gently using a soft cloth with dedicated metal polish, avoiding abrasive scrubbers or water immersion to safeguard the wooden handle and patinated surfaces.
