FAQs

A Victorian dresser base is a low storage cabinet featuring drawers over cupboards, originally designed for 19th-century kitchens and dining spaces.

These pieces were predominantly crafted from local softwoods such as pine or deal, often featuring hand-joined drawers, wooden knob handles, and painted finishes.

Genuine Victorian pieces display natural surface wear, hand-cut dovetail joints, period-correct iron or wooden hardware, and historic layers of paint showing authentic patina.

Position the piece in a hallway, kitchen, or dining room, using the flat wooden top to display contemporary ceramics, framed artwork, or fresh botanical arrangements.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or excess moisture which can damage original paint finishes.
