The Art Nouveau movement, flourishing between 1890 and 1910, was characterised by organic motifs, flowing lines inspired by natural forms, and a focus on craftsmanship that rejected industrial mass production.

These pieces were typically cast using the lost-wax method, known as cire perdue, which allowed for intricate detail and fluid, lifelike rendering in bronze alloy.

Authentic period pieces often feature signature markings or foundry stamps, natural patination developed over decades, and microscopic casting seams indicative of traditional manufacturing techniques.

Position the piece as a focal point on a credenza, mantelpiece, or bookshelf to introduce historical depth, sculptural weight, and a sophisticated focal point to contemporary spaces.

Dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid using chemical polishes, which can strip the natural oxidised patina and damage the protective wax coating.
