Miniature painting on silk and paper has a rich history rooted in Mughal and Rajput court traditions, where artisans utilised fine brushes to depict royal processions, wildlife, and mythological scenes.

Traditional Indian miniatures are typically created using fine silk or handmade paper, natural mineral pigments, and sometimes gold leaf highlights applied with extreme precision.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit hand-painted brushwork with slight irregularities, natural pigment absorption into the fabric fibres, and traditional framing methods appropriate to the period.

These detailed artworks work well when paired with neutral walls and classic wooden frames, serving as focal points in studies, hallways, or living spaces.

To preserve silk paintings, keep them away from direct sunlight to prevent fading, maintain stable humidity levels, and ensure they are framed behind UV-protective glass.
