FAQs

Antique landscape oil paintings typically capture natural scenes with an emphasis on light, atmosphere, and brushwork, reflecting the artistic movements of their period such as realism or impressionism.

Traditional pieces are typically created using oil paints applied to stretched canvas, wooden panels, or linen boards, often housed in hand-carved or gilded wooden frames.

Authenticity is assessed by examining canvas ageing, craquelure in the paint layer, stretcher frame construction, artist signatures, and material oxidation under ultraviolet light.

Pairing historical art with minimalist contemporary furnishings creates a striking contrast, allowing the texture and rich palette of the canvas to serve as a focal point.

Preservation requires maintaining stable indoor humidity and temperature, keeping canvases away from direct sunlight, and avoiding chemical cleaners when dusting the surface.
