We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Iron and brass bedsteads gained immense popularity during the Victorian and Edwardian eras as a hygienic alternative to wooden beds, offering resistance to pests and improved durability through industrial manufacturing processes.

These frames typically combine cast iron structural elements with malleable iron tubing, often featuring brass finials, spindles, or mounts joined together with dovetail joints or heavy-duty bolts.

Authentic pieces usually display hand-poured iron components with visible seam lines, heavy weight, original patina, and manufacturer stamps or plaques rather than lightweight modern steel tubing.

An antique metal bed frame works well as a focal point in a neutral bedroom, contrasted with crisp white linens, textured throws, and minimalist modern bedside tables to balance industrial and classic elements.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners that strip the protective wax or lacquer, and periodically checking all structural bolts for stability.
