Art Deco figurative sculpture emerged in the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by streamlined forms, stylised features, and influences from modernist and classical traditions.

Sculptors of this era frequently utilised ceramics, terracotta, bronze, and mixed media, often mounting them on contrasting plinths made of marble or exotic woods.

Authenticity is typically verified through maker marks, casting techniques, material aging, and stylistic adherence to the geometric and aerodynamic motifs of the interwar period.

This type of sculpture functions effectively as a focal point on a mantlepiece, console table, or bookshelf, pairing well with clean-lined architectural surroundings.

Dusting gently with a soft, dry cloth is recommended, avoiding chemical cleaning agents and excessive moisture that could damage porous ceramic surfaces or polished stone.
