Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Armoires originated in Europe during the Middle Ages as large cupboards primarily used for storing weapons, armour, and textiles before evolving into dedicated bedroom clothing storage in subsequent centuries.

Traditional pieces are constructed from solid hardwoods such as oak, walnut, or chestnut, utilising historical joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon, hand-carved decorative motifs, and pegged frames.

Authentication relies on examining tool marks, hand-cut joinery, historical hardware, natural timber oxidation, irregularities in mirrored glass, and construction methods characteristic of pre-industrial cabinet making.

An antique armoire provides practical storage while serving as a strong architectural focal point, pairing effectively with minimalist modern decor to create a balanced contrast between old and new.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to protect the wood finish and timber colour, and applying occasional natural beeswax rather than modern silicon-based polishes.
