FAQs

Cold painted bronze refers to bronze sculptures decorated with non-fired paint, a technique famously mastered by Viennese foundries in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Pieces are crafted from cast bronze, then meticulously detailed by hand using layers of cold-applied oil paint to achieve realistic animal coloration.

Authentic pieces typically feature characteristic wear and flaking of the original oil paint, fine hand-chased surface detailing, and occasionally makers marks or foundry stamps.

This piece works well as a tactile decorative object on a bookshelf, desk, or mantelpiece, adding character and historical interest to a curated interior.

Dust gently with a soft, dry brush. Never use water, chemical solvents, or polishes, as these will strip the delicate, non-fired paintwork.
