Description

-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques-
A William IV solid mahogany writing table of excellent quality.
c.1835.

Of rectangular form with a shaped gallery, over an arrangement of five oak lined drawers with turned handles. Above a very useful large and sturdy under shelf, which is constructed from thick timbers, creating extra storage space.
Retaining the original turned handles, brass locks and escutcheons.

Standing on turned tapering supports, with the original brass castors.
Good deep rich colour to the mahogany, with some nice figuring to the top.

In excellent antique condition. Expected minor signs of age and use. Small chip to lower corner of the central drawer, shown in the pictures, very tiny and minor.
Very solid sturdy strong and robust, with all drawers opening easily and smoothly.

The dimensions are.

Height including gallery-83cm. Height to top-78. Height to underside of the table-63.2cm.

Width-122cm.

Depth-68.5cm.
