Edwin Steele was a British painter who was born in 1837. Edwin Steele's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging up to 6,676 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2003 the record price for this artist at auction is 6,676 USD for STILL LIFE OF APPLES AND GRAPES ON A MOSSY BANK; STILL LIFE WITH FLOWERS AND A BIRD'S NEST, sold at Sotheby's London in 2016. The artist died in 1919.

With metal wire hanging thread on the back.
Condition report offered in fine used condition. Having some paint loss in places, also a horizontal indentation line showing neat the top of the canvas due the back of the frame pressing on it over many years, craquelure, foxing, fading, very small tiny tear top right corner, surface dirt & dust in places to the painting surface. With general wear, dust, scuffs, stains, cracking, losses, chips and some over painting to frame and it would benefit with you needing to add a new hanging thread on the back as the old one has lost tension commensurate with usage & old age.
