This large Georgian tea kettle originates from around 1800. Constructed from warm copper and brass, the piece exhibits a hammered finish with visible age wear across its body. The design includes a curved swan-neck spout, a stepped lift-off lid topped with an urn-shaped finial, and an overhead brass handle attached with brackets. Dovetailed construction joins the metal elements. The kettle stands 31 cm high, 23 cm wide, and 33 cm deep. Suitable for display on a traditional fireplace hearth in a rustic farmhouse interior, the kettle serves as a decorative accent in a living room, kitchen, or dining space. Placing the piece on a mantelpiece or side surface introduces historic character to the home.

George III copper kettles, produced between 1760 and 1820, are characterised by robust hand-hammered sheet copper, brazed dovetailed seams, and cast brass handle mounts or finials. Design elements frequently include gooseneck spouts and stepped lids.

These vessels were primarily fashioned from heavy-gauge copper sheet joined with brass solder along brazed seams. Handles and lid knobs were often cast from brass or crafted from folded copper to withstand high temperatures.

Authentic pieces exhibit visible dovetailed joinery along the base and side seam, copper rivets securing the handle mounts, and subtle surface irregularities from hand hammering rather than machine pressing.

An antique copper kettle serves as an accent piece on a fireplace hearth, an AGA cooker top, open kitchen dressers, or island countertops within rustic and contemporary scheme settings.

Clean gently using specialized metal polishes and soft microfibre cloths, avoiding abrasive pads that scratch the metal surface. Retain the natural oxidisation in recessed details to preserve historical integrity.
