This nineteenth-century French sculpture depicts a winged putto figure cast in gilt bronze with a bright gold finish. The chubby child figure wears a laurel leaf crown and holds a scroll and quill while seated on a small block, complete with feathered wings at the shoulders and drapery wrapping the body. The figurative piece rests upon a rectangular white and grey veined marble plinth with a flat top and bevelled lower edges, set against a plain background. The sculpture measures 17 cm high, 14 cm wide, and 6 cm deep in overall dimensions. Placed on a mantelpiece, the decorative object suits traditional country house or chateau interior schemes.
