Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning original Victorian Howard & Son’s curved front double wingback sofa full stamped with H&S ticking

A truly stunning piece, in sublime condition, these double wingback sofas almost never come up for sale, this is a mid Victorian example with original green Howard & Son’s floral ticking fabric, there were three types of fabric originally used at the factory, the H&S monogram we all know and love, then two versions of this floral ticking, the green and a red

The inside back leg is fully stamped Howard & Son’s Berners Street and with the serial number 7854 3105, you also have the original Howard shop paper label on the oversized stretched on the base

This sofa has a curved front edge which I have never seen before, it is finished off with a row of Chesterfield tufted buttons. The cushions are my favourite which is light fibre filled, this offers the soft sunk in feeling which is unrivalled by any other seating company

The condition of this sofa is perfect, I can’t see a mark anywhere, the frame has been cleaned waxed and polished, the cushions are fully upholstered on both sides so if the worst should happen and you stain one side, you can simply flip them over
