A rare cold painted bronze sculpture of a hunting dog carrying a pheasant in his mouth , by Jules Moigniez . 1835 - 1894 . Jules started his career at the Exposition Universelle of 1855 . He was particularly attracted to fowl , which explains his studies with one of his elders , bird specialist Paul Comolera . Jules made hunting scenes as well as bird sculptures he was known for his detailing and chiselling .
Excellent condition, full of detail , mounted on a beige and black marble base signed Moigniez .
