I’ve only ever seen one other chest made with this formation, I’ve bought maybe 1000 campaign chests over the many years I’ve been in the trade, the other one I saw I kept for myself which is exactly what I would be doing with this one had I not kept the other.

This is all walnut, you will never see another walnut campaign chest, the timber was too expensive. This is an officer’s chest, there is a hat drawer to the left, glove drawer to the middle, these are rare additions in themselves. The central drawer comes out to reveal a large green leather writing slope, the base has two metal clips which when released opens up more storage, open the back top section of the writing slope and you find more storage with a little cupboard, there is another drawer that has a stationary filing section, the list goes on.

Condition wise is period correct for a campaign used piece. There will be marks etc everywhere as you would expect, all of which add to the charm and charisma of the piece. There is some warping to the large base drawers, but they all still operate just fine.

We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, it simply glows in person.
