A Large Antique Bubbles Framed Print After John Everett Millais Pears Print. This impressive large bubbles print would date to the early 20th century. The subject was originally painted by the talented artist John Everett Millais, and was given away with the 1897 Pears annual. Its housed in a lovely carved wooden frame.
''Bubbles'' was painted in 1885-6 and shows a boy blowing bubbles with a pipe and a bowl of soap suds. The boy was the artist’s grandson, Willie James, aged about four.
The young boy grew up and in later life became an Admiral.
