Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating from the Heriz region in Northwest Persia, these textiles are famous for their bold, geometric designs and central medallions. Woven by village craftspeople, they feature rectilinear motifs and stylized botanical patterns distinct from the curvilinear designs of city workshops.

Heriz runners are hand-knotted using durable hand-spun wool pile woven onto a heavy cotton warp and weft foundation. The local wool is notoriously tough due to copper traces in the sheeps drinking water, and the yarns are coloured using traditional natural dyes.

Authentic Heriz runners feature stylized, angular geometry rather than smooth curves, along with a thick pile and a robust double-knotted structure. Aging displays natural abrash dye variations and soft oxidisation of the colours rather than uniform synthetic fading.

A long Persian runner provides an ideal anchor for entryways, hallways, and kitchen corridors. Its rich tones and geometric lines complement both traditional dark wood floors and contemporary neutral stone, introducing color and texture to linear spaces.

Vacuum regularly using suction only to avoid catching the hand-knotted fibers with a rotary beater bar. Rotate the runner annually to ensure even foot-traffic wear and light exposure, and rely on professional hand-washing specialists for deep cleaning.
