-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques- A good quality George IV mahogany davenport desk. c.1820. This attractive davenport has a sliding top mechanism, featuring a high quality newly fitted tan leather, gold tooled sloping writing surface, with a hinged lidded stationary box to the back, having various compartments. The hinged sloping lid opens to reveal a storage area. Below are three drawers having richly figured mahogany fronts and are of dove-tail contruction. Retaining the original locks, brass escutcheons and turned bun-handles. No key. Standing on the original brass castors. In excellent antique condition. Dimensions- Height to top of the stationary box-94cm. Height to underside of sliding-top-70cm. Width-56.5cm. Depth-56.5cm.
