Description

This finely carved oak pedestal desk, purchased from a private Surrey estate, is already creating much interest since being professionally and sensitively restored. This good example from the late 19th Century retains a lovely warm colour and its original wooden turned knobs. The carving to the draw fronts has also been very well executed and shows just the right amount of restraint by the maker. The raised paneling was an extra refinement at the time of manufacture and puts this desk above many of its counterparts. The working locks to the pedestal draws have been serviced and keys are supplied. The manufactures enamel makers plate is to be found inside the middle draw.
