A fine Victorian satinwood pedestal desk
c1860.
Constructed from satinwood. With the most lovely figuring and outstanding colour and glowing richness to the timbers.
Having an inset green leather gold-tooled writing surface, over nine drawers having ebonised stringing decoration, which contrasts beautifully with the lighter satinwood. The drawers are of dove-tail construction and are mahogany lined. With all locks and escutcheons present.
Retaining the original bun handles.
In excellent antique condition, expected minor signs of age and use.
Standing on the original castors, so making it easier to maneuver. The desk doesn`t dismantle.
