Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Hamadan rugs originate from western Iran and are known for their durable single-weft construction. They frequently feature geometric designs, medallion centres, or all-over field patterns such as the boteh (paisley), rendered in rich natural vegetable dyes.

These rugs are hand-knotted using hand-spun local wool for the pile, anchored onto a strong cotton warp and weft foundation. The wool chosen for village rugs is typically coarse, thick, and highly resilient to wear.

Authentic 1920s pieces exhibit hand-knotted symmetrical (Ghiordes) knots visible from the underside, subtle colour variations (abrash) due to hand-dyed wool batches, and flexible, soft wear consistent with natural ageing.

An antique Persian rug grounds contemporary spaces by adding texture and historic contrast. Place it beneath modern minimalist furniture or layer it over plain neutral flooring to anchor the seating area.

Vacuum regularly using suction only without a rotating brush to protect the fibres. Rotate the rug annually to balance light exposure and foot traffic, and treat spills immediately with cold water and gentle dabbing.
