Antique fragment of a kilim by the Aydinli tribe of South West Anatolia
2nd half 19th century.
This kilim was woven in two parts on a narrow loom and only one half now survives. The kilim is original in lengths as knotted end finishes are present in places at both ends. The kilim has superb natural colours, the design is related to earlier examples but the design has become more crowded in later examples like this.
The kilim is in fair condition with some wear and a few spots of damage.
The kilim is suitable for very light domestic use and ideally should be displayed.
The kilim has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
