Size: 6ft 9in x 4ft 3in (207 x 130cm).

A very fine Senneh kilim with soft colours and a very unusual design.

Circa 1900.

This is a most unusual Senneh kilim with the design being a rug within a rug. The overall design is the classic heratti design which is found in most Senneh kilims, the outer deign is on a dark indigo blue ground and the inner design is on a ivory ground. The rug has soft pastel colours and an overall light palette.

Excellent condition with very slight even wear.

A very fine kilim suitable for light domestic floor use

Hand washed and ready for use or display.

Senneh kilims originate from the city of Sanandaj in western Iran, renowned for producing some of the finest flatwoven textiles in Persian weaving history. These rugs are distinguished by their fine tapestry weave, intricate Herati patterns, and delicate visual balance.
