This walnut pedestal desk, dating to the 1890''s, is in lovely condition - the mouldings to the base of each pedestal, normally bruised with years of use, are crisp and sharp, the handles, escutcheons and locks, working with key supplied, are all original to the desk. We have retained the leather writing surface as it is still in a good condition and now, from years of careful use, has taken on an attractive patina of its own.The draw fronts and the majority of the desks'' carcass is constructed from solid walnut, the draw sides and bottoms are of solid mahogany.
